What do you think the quote means?
To me, it is simply saying, life is what you make of it; in a prettier way.
There has always been this belief that life is not a fairy tale, because we all imagine this perfect world that life, just isn't. But fairy tales are just stories; a story of a life. And with life comes obstacles just like in fairy tales. The only difference is that we are not friends with dwarfs, fighting dragons and running away from evil witches. Although, life would be of great amusement if we use our imaginations.
